EIGHT CRAYONS

If, as some say, beginning a new year
is like
opening a brand new box of crayons,

then I wish for

five yellows,
            for coloring in the sun,

two reds,
f or coloring in the heart,

and

one blue,
            for those days when
            I don't feel like coloring
            at all.
