"Breakfast in the Bathtub." In this story, Joann tells about her friend
Jacquie who has the odd habit of eating breakfast in her bathtub every
morning.
" .... One day she had just gotten all settled in her sudsy water when she accidentally knocked her cereal bowl and its contents right into the tub with her. 'I just sat there looking at those blueberries, banana slices, and Fruit Loops floating in the bubbles,' she said, 'and I laughed!'.... "

In his poem, "Honey" Fred recalls a trip to his doctor's office, especially his encounter with the secretary.

'The plump young secretary
at the doctor's office
calls me "Honey" when I come
for my monthly shot
of "Johnny Walker red"
(B-12 to the unhip.)
I smile as an old graybeard
is expected to do, but
a part of that smile eludes her
- for she does not know that
I still view all women
through the X-ray eyes of imagination.'
