JOANN SNOW DUNCANSON began her writing career as a humorous verse writer for Rust Craft Greeting Card Co. in Boston, and subsequently became a newspaper columnist; 17 years with the Peterborough (NH) Transcript, and currently with the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript. She is a past winner of the Columnist of the Year Award, given by the NH Press Association and is the author of Who Gets the Yellow Bananas?,  and with Fred Samuels, is co-author of Breakfast in the Bathtub - a Book of Smiles, both published by Peter E Randall Publishers of Portsmouth, NH.

Joann is also known for her musical performances on the life and works of both Emily Dickinson and Isles of Shoals poet, Celia Thaxter, plus her humorous presentations on the foibles of everyday life.  Often called the Erma Bombeck of New England, Joann lives and writes in the seacoast area of New Hampshire. 

She is a member of the Seacoast Writers Association, the New Hampshire Writers Project, the Poetry Society of New Hampshire and the Emily Dickinson International Society. 


FRED SAMUELS, Joann's  co-author of
Breakfast in the Bathtub,  began writing poetry at age eleven.  Later, as a professor of sociology, he incorporated poetry into his courses at the University of New Hampshire.  His book, Intense Experience: Social Psychology through Poetry, has been used a teaching tool for several years. .
