| JOANN SNOW DUNCANSON began her writing career as a humorous verse writer for Rust Craft Greeting Card Co. in Boston, and subsequently became a newspaper columnist; 17 years with the Peterborough (NH) Transcript, and currently with the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript. She is a past winner of the Columnist of the Year Award, given by the NH Press Association and is the author of Who Gets the Yellow Bananas?, and with Fred Samuels, is co-author of Breakfast in the Bathtub - a Book of Smiles, both published by Peter E Randall Publishers of Portsmouth, NH.
Her latest book published in Aug. 2011, is Eight Crayons -- Poems and Stories by an ALMOST Sane Womanl. It is available online at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble.com or the publisher, Xlibris.com or via Joann at ourbooks@worldpath.net.. Joann is also known for her musical performances on the life and works of both Emily Dickinson and Isles of Shoals poet, Celia Thaxter, plus her humorous presentations on the foibles of everyday life. Often called the Erma Bombeck of New England, Joann lives and writes in the seacoast area of New Hampshire. She is a member of the Seacoast Writers Association, the New Hampshire Writers Project, and a board member of the Poetry Society of New Hampshire and the Emily Dickinson International Society. Dr. Fred Samuels, former professor at the University of NH and co-author of Breakfast in the Bathtub passed away in June, 2009. He was a wonderful friend, poet and co-author who is missed on the writing scene. . |
